The State Liberals are broadly supportive of development in the Riverbank precinct.
Today’s announcement by the Weatherill Labor Government is very similar to the State Liberals’ 2014 Election commitment, to create a ‘Festival Plaza’ that will utilise Elder Park, the new footbridge and the Festival Theatre as a public venue.
The State Liberals are supportive of maintaining open space in the Festival Plaza precinct for a wide variety of entertainment displays, attractions and events.
“It is disappointing that the Weatherill Labor Government has taken so long to bring the development to fruition,” said Shadow Infrastructure Minister Vickie Chapman.
“Given the $180 million of public funding involved in the redevelopment the Weatherill Labor Government must immediately release all the relevant contracts and documents relating to the entire development.”
