ICAC secrecy changes

The State Liberals have welcomed the announcement that legislation will be introduced to State Parliament that partially lifts the veil of secrecy over the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption.

“The South Australian ICAC has been too secretive from the day it was established,” said Shadow Attorney-General Vickie Chapman.

“We have always supported having an independent corruption commission in South Australia but have not always agreed with the level of secrecy that exists.

“While we welcome the Government’s announcement today, we will be looking at whether we introduce amendments to further open up the ICAC.”
